Alphabet City just landed itself in the 2015 Novartis pharmaceutical calendar. As an unknown artist , I am beyond  thrilled to have my talent recognized again by this pharm giant.
This work was created using a hand brayer ,ink,  watercolor pencils, and rubberstamps. I  became frustrated  realizing  one of the letters  was stamped upside down. As an  experiment, I continued the upside down stamping . The result added a pleasing element of playfulness to the composition.

The peaceful energy in this photograph allows it to work well for almost any occasion. I use it for a sympathy card.

I found this painting in an East Village thrift store. “Artist unknown ” was  scribbled on the back.
